It’s official, Friends fans– the gang is officially reuniting for a brand new special coming soon to HBO Max!

On Friday (February 21), Warner Media officially confirmed that the Friends cast would be coming together for a brand new unscripted special set to debut exclusively via forthcoming streaming service, HBO Max.

Rumors of the special (which is currently without a title) have been swirling for quite some time, making the forthcoming Friends reunion one of the worst kept secrets in Hollywood. At the same time, we’re sure fans of the iconic sitcom will still be excited over the fact that it’s officially been confirmed by Warner Brothers!

As part of the special, series stars Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer will all return to the iconic Stage 24– the very soundstage on the Warner Bros., studio lot the sitcom called home during its run.

Behind the camera, the special will be directed by Ben Winston, in addition to being executive produced by original series producers Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman, and David Crane; Original series stars Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc, Perry, and Schwimmer will also all serve as executive producers on the special.

In addition to confirming the reunion, Warner Media also revealed that Friends fans will be able to stream the special as soon as HBO Max launches in just a few months time.

The unscripted reunion isn’t the only Friends content HBO Max plans to make available on launch day.

In addition, those who sign up will also instantly be able to stream all 236 episodes of the series’s original run.

Previously, the complete series was available to binge via Netflix, but as fans are well aware, the hit sitcom left the Netflix library at the beginning of the year in an effort to make its way over to its new home at HBO Max.

“Guess you could call this the one where they all got back together— we are reuniting with David, Jennifer, Courtney, Matt. Lisa. And Matthew for an HBO Max special that will be programmed alongside the entire Friends library,” said HBO Max’s chief content officer, Kevin Reilly in a statement. “I became aware of Friends when it was in the very early stages of development and then had the opportunity to work on the series many years later and have delighted in seeing it catch on with viewers generation after generation. It taps into an era when friends – and audiences – gathered together in real time and we think this reunion special will capture that spirit, uniting original and new fans.”

We’ll be looking forward to tuning in to the Friends reunion in just a few month’s time following the launch of HBO Max in May 2020!
