Fox may have axed a good chunk of their programming last week, but 24 and Prison Break may be making yet another comeback.

Speaking to press during Fox’s 2018 Upfront press call on Monday (May 14), network chairman Dana Walden revealed that there could be more 24 heading our way following last year’s 24: Legacy.

Though there’s no timeline with regards to when we might see the next iteration of the 24 franchise premiere, Walden revealed that series showrunners Joel Surnow and Bob Cochran are currently discussing how the series could continue.

Fans hoping Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton might be back, however, shouldn’t hold their breaths. We’ve known for quite some time that the actor would be unlikely to return given prior commitments.

Regardless, it sounds as though if another iteration of 24 gets the green light, we’ll be getting a story centered around a whole new crop of characters.

One idea showrunners are currently tossing around is centering the next installment of the franchise on a female. As cool as that idea is, it sounds like it’ll be quite a while before the network is ready to put 24 back on air.

One other series that could be making yet another comeback is the high stakes drama Prison Break.

Though the popular action drama was only meant to make a one-off comeback, Fox president of entertainment Michael Thorne let slip that the network is currently in the process of developing another installment of the series.

Prison Break is in early stages of development,” said Thorn according to Deadline. “We are focusing on getting the next iteration right.”
