Big news for comedy fans! Fox is taking another swing at a cross over event, this time with New Girl and Brooklyn Nine-Nine! The back-to-back episodes will air Tuesday, October 11 on Fox and will follow the characters from the two series as they meet in NYC.

Dan Goor, co-creator and executive producer of Brooklyn Nine-Nine teased, “We’re all huge fans of New Girl here at the Nine-Nine, and we’re excited to see our characters interact and to work with their incredible writers and producers. And also to see what their craft services are like, compared to ours.”

It was also revealed at the Fox TCA’s that Mariah Carey will be appearing as a guest-star on Empire. She’ll be playing a character named Kitty who also happens to be a superstar. Kitty and Jamal Lyon will be collaborating on what’s being described as “an explosive new song.” However, there will be drama as Kitty helps Jamal deal with some personal difficulties.

Other guest stars in the new season of Empire include Taye Diggs, Sierra McClain, rapper French Montana and Birdman.

The episode will follow Mr. Burns as he tries to relive his glory days and gets conned by a music mogul. Homer, Bart, rapper Jazzy James (guest voice Keegan-Michael Key), Praline (guest voice Henson), help Burns get his revenge. Meanwhile, Lisa gets courted by the richest kid in town, Smithers begins a perilous journey, and Marge opens a boutique.

After the Fox TCA’s Chairman and CEO Dana Walden reportedly told TV Line that they want X-Files season 11 to happen and also have hopes that it would run longer than the previous season.

Walden explained, “We’re in conversations that intentionally we could do more. I don’t imagine it being a full season of The X-Files, but I would be really happy if we were able to get eight to 10 episodes.”
