As networks begin to make decisions on which pilots to pick up for next season, the first of several adaptions has been cut. Delirium, based on the Lauren Oliver novel and starring Emma Roberts, has been passed on by Fox.

According to EW, the high concept dystopian that was based in a world where love is a disease and outlawed, has been rejected by Fox. All week Delirium fans have been working on getting Delirium to trend on Twitter in hopes of getting the pilot picked up. Sadly, it didn’t work.

Other adaptations still in contention for being picked up are The CW’s The Selection, which was already given a second life after not being picked up last year. The Selection has the potential to be the next big adaptation for the small screen, especially given that The Elite, the second novel in the series, hit the #1 spot on the New York Times Bestseller list when released.

The fanbase is certainly ready to see their favorite characters on TV, but the question is will The CW take The Selection in a direction that will alienate the fanbase? Rumor has it that The Selection has gone from The Hunger Games meets The Bachelor to The Hungers Games meets Game of Thrones, racy sex scenes and all.

Only time will tell the fate of The Selection, but for Delirium, this is the end of the road.

Will you watch The Selection even if it is drastically different from the book? Are you disappointed that Delirium didn’t make it?
