Orphan Black season 3 premieres in just under two weeks on BBC America and we’ve already seen the premiere episode. Check out our teasers for what we consider the show’s best premiere episode to date.

Orphan Black is one of the best dramas on TV, and the season 3 premiere proves that fact once again. When we sat down to watch we were already excited about seeing more of our favorite clones, and by the time we finished the episode, our expectations weren’t just met, but exceeded.

The third season of Orphan Black follows Sarah Manning and her clone sisters as they continue to delve into the mystery of Project Leda and how/why they were made. This mystery is expanded upon this season with the addition of a completely new set of clones: Project Castor. Compromised of all males, Project Castor is a military experiment that raised every clone as self-aware soldiers, a concept completely new to the ladies of Project Leda that were all raised in different environments and only just recently found out about their true genetics.

Being a season premiere, it’s expected that Orphan Black‘s newest episode gives you surprises, shocks and satisfaction, and we’re happy to say it gave us all of them. Below are just a few of our favorite things about the episode. Spoiler free!

Clone Swap! One of our favorite things about Orphan Black is when Tatiana Maslany plays one clone who’s playing another, and in the season 3 premiere we get a swap that’s so epic it almost out-ranks Alison pretending to be Sarah in season 1!

Your favorites are back! All of our favorite living female clones are back and have almost equal amounts of screen time. Whether you missed Rachel, Helena, Cosima, Alison or Sarah, you can rest easy knowing that when you watch the premiere on April 18 you’ll get to see them all.

Easy to understand. When we first began the episode we were worried that our lack of a re-watch would make us confused when all the clones came back to play, but we found ourselves loving every minute without a single second of confusion. We hadn’t seen an episode since the season 2 finale last year, but when we jumped right back into it everything lined up. We didn’t have any questions about who did what or what anything was.

Ari Millen is bae. Forgive us for our colloquialism, but it’s just the truth, people. When it was announced that Millen would be taking the role of all the Project Castor clones, we were curious how he would do in a show that’s already been blowing people away with Maslany’s clone performances. Millen’s performance as every single male clone (yes, there’s more than one in the season premiere) shines just as bright as Maslany’s and we find ourselves even more excited to see what he will bring to the table in season 3.

The Orphan Black season 3 premiere is epic, action-filled and seriously one of our favorite episode to date, so be sure to tune in to BBC America or any AMC channel this April 18 at 9:00 p.m.
