We had heard that Chris Meloni and True Blood were in talks last month, and now the deal is done. The former Law & Order: SVU star (who left the show earlier this year) is becoming a vampire!
TV Guide confirmed the news today:
It’s official: Christopher Meloni has joined the cast of True Blood for Season 5, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
Meloni is slated to portray “an ancient, powerful vampire who holds the fate of Bill [Stephen Moyer] and Eric [Alexander Skarsgard] in his hands,” executive producer Alan Ball tells TVLine.com, who first reported the news.
Will Meloni be a good addition to the show? It’s certainly a major departure from playing a detective for so long on NBC!
