Marti Noxon, best known for her work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, is the latest writer who will take a stab at the script for Ouija, a horror movie based on the classic board game.

SFX reports that Marti Noxon, who has recently done a rewrite on the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies script,  is the latest in a long line of writers to attempt to make Ouija (originally penned by Once Upon a Time showrunners Ed Kitsis and Adam Horowitz) into a workable script:

The project, which has in the past been described a supernatural version of National Treasure, has now gone through so many writers and directors and budget adjustments, Lord knows whether it still resembles a supernatural version of National Treasure any more. It was originally scripted by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz (Lost), then Simon Kinberg performed a rewrite earlier this year. McG (Terminator: Salvation) was going to direct, but departed in August.

We are hoping that this means that they are really committed to making this a quality movie! Hopefully, Marti Noxon will be able to work her magic. We know she can write – after all, she wrote an impressive 24 episodes of Buffy, including classics like ‘Surprise’ and ‘The Wish,’ and collaborated on ‘Conversations With Dead People.’
