The Foo Fighters look to be taking an indefinite break from performing.

“Without making a big deal out of it, we don’t have any shows after this. This is it, man,” frontman Dave Grohl told the crowd at the Global Citizen Festival Saturday, Billboard reports. “Honestly, I don’t know when we’re gonna do it again… and this is the perfect place to do it.”

The Foo Fighters performed “Times Like These,” “All My Life,” “My Hero,” “Best of You,” “Everlong” and more for a crowd of more than 60,000 at New York City’s Central Park. But before concluding the set, Grohl took a more hopeful tone.

“I don’t know when, but we’ll see you again,” he said.

If it’s any comfort, the band has been touring for about a year, so it’s not surprising for the rockers to take a break. Their website’s tour page still reads “We are coming for you too. More shows being added here soon.”

Rumors of the band splitting have been flying since Grohl told fans at England’s Reading Music Festival, “It’s the last show of the tour and it’s the last show for a long time.”

The band later tweeted a clarification:

“Jeesh! Relax…..I was only talking TO England!! ABOUT England…Stop eavesdropping internets!”

The band has released seven albums since its formation in 1994, following the death of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. The Foo Fighters most recently released Wasting Light in 2011, which won four Grammys.
