Despite the slow news cycle due to the Holiday weekend, The Hunger Games news related to the film’s soundtrack has been particularly busy. First we had Taylor Swift’s single for the film. Then came news that The Decemberists and Arcade Fire were also to be on the soundtrack.

But wait! It now appears Arcade Fire is NOT on the soundtrack. At least, not the entire band.

The issue appears to be concerning the original news brief issued by Reuters which had named Arcade Fire as one of the bands on the soundtrack. A more detailed press release seems to indicate that only two of the band’s members created a song:

2011 Grammy® Album of the Year winners Win Butler and Regine Chassagne of Arcade Fire have written a song with Burnett entitled Horn Of Plenty

Moreover, an unofficial Twitter account which tracks Arcade Fire claims they were in touch with the band’s management. Word is that Horn of Plenty is an instrumental piece done only by Butler and Chassagne.

Despite all this, Arcade Fire fans should still be happy to hear that two of Arcade Fire’s members contributed to the music of The Hunger Games.

Thanks, The Hob!
