A new report has surfaced which gives us our first review of Iron Man 3, and a new TV spot for the film features new footage.
We’ve seen Iron Man 3’s first official clip and trailers, but now Marvel has released two more TV spots which feature new footage of people infected with the “Extremis” nano-virus. Check out the TV spots below:
Also revealed today is a very brief “review” of Iron Man 3, from a viewer who reportedly saw the film in its entirety this past weekend. We’re unsure whether its factual or not, but as the film is set to hit international theaters next week, it’s very likely that we’ll start to see reactions to the film. We’ve included the transcript of the review below:
“It blows the second movie out of the water, It has some amazing action sequences that are on par with The Avengers. Robert Downey Jr. brings so much to this role that he is completely irreplaceable. Shane Black was a good choice for this one, as he injected his buddy-cop movie style towards the end, and was able to balance great action scenes with a ton of comedy. I heard a lot of early trepidation about this one going for the bleak, Dark Knight style that seems to be so popular with Superhero movies these days, but that is not the case. This is by far the funniest Marvel movie to date, and handled with the same light touch as the previous films. This is a great addition to the MCU and makes me excited to go along for the ride for Phase 2.”
It’s interesting to hear that the film is quite comical, as the teasers have been very Dark Knight-esq, so it’ll be interesting to see what tone the film ends up having.
Recent ‘Iron Man 3’ news
Last night we got three new TV clips from the film, and last week we saw Robert Downey Jr. promoting Marvel’s Iron Man 3 in South Korea, where he hilariously performed “Gangnam Style” for a massive audience. The event kicked off what will be an intense world press tour which will include the cast of Iron Man 3 visiting Beijing, Moscow, Munich, Paris, London, Los Angeles, and finally New York. With Robert Downey Jr. along for the ride, hilarity is bound to ensue at the many press conferences and premieres.
Marvel is definitely releasing all of its weapons as Iron Man 3 TV spots and official clips roll out daily, and we don’t imagine this trend will stop any time soon. We’re getting a little more footage than we’d like, but overall the footage that we’ve been seeing is very exciting.
Just last week it was announced by Fandango that according to a survey it performed, Iron Man 3 is the most anticipated movie of the summer. We look forward to seeing more press for the film as it nears its May 3 U.S. release date.
