The trailer for First Man teases the “impossible journey” that led to the first moon landing.

Neil Armstrong’s moon landing is something that basically everyone has heard of, but few know the details behind. First Man will take us behind the headlines of the Apollo 11 mission, giving us insight into what exactly led up to the “one giant leap for mankind.”

The amazing first trailer even gives us a taste of the stakes involved with the extremely dangerous mission. Neil Armstrong is played by Ryan Gosling, with Claire Foy playing his wife at the time of the mission, Janet Armstrong.

First Man is directed by Damien Chazelle, who obviously achieved success with Ryan Gosling in La La Land. This film should be much different in tone than the modern-day movie musical, but based on the trailer, it looks like the pair has struck gold again.

Since the first moon landing is one of the most iconic events in American history, it’s really a miracle that it hasn’t been adapted for the big screen, until now. Lucky for us that it hadn’t, so this dream team got to be a part of it!

First Man will premiere in theaters on October 12, 2018. Check out the trailer here!
