A live performance of The Sound of Music will be broadcast on NBC this December, and this week a new poster for the show was released.
In The Sound of Music Live! poster we see Carrie Underwood in the lead role of Maria, played by Julie Andrews in the movie of the same name.
In addition to the new poster, NBC unveiled three new cast members: Audra McDonald will portray Mother Abbess, Laura Benanti will play Elsa Schrader, and Christian Borle is set to play Max Dettweiler. The Sound of Music has already cast True Blood’s Stephen Moyer in the role of World War I hero Capt. Georg Von Trapp.
The Sound of Music Live! airs December 5 on NBC. The show is produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Moran who produced this year’s and next year’s Academy Awards.
