Feel the power of Marvel’s Inhumans in our first look at the main cast.

The Royal Family of Attilan stands arrayed in this first image from EW, with Black Bolt (Anson Mount) and his queen Medusa (Serinda Swan) standing front and center. Even from the still image, it seems clear that Medusa’s dexterous hair is full of secrets.

The silent Inhuman king is backed by his cousins Karnak (Ken Leung) and Gorgon (Eme Ikwuakor.) Medusa is framed by her sister Crystal (Isabelle Cornish) and Karnak’s manipulative brother Maximus (Game of Thrones alum Iwan Rheon.)

Not featured in the first Inhumans image are Mike Moh as the amphibious Triton, and the Inhuman dog Lockjaw, both of whom will be featured in the eight-episode series.

Showrunner Scott Buck says that fans can expect a serialized family drama from Inhumans, concentrated more on relationships than the Royal Family’s extraordinary powers.

“We’re telling a story about a family at a very critical juncture in their lives,” he tells EW. “When we meet up with them, we’re going to find that pretty much everything they’ve ever known is at risk.”

Marvel’s Inhumans is produced in conjunction with IMAX, and the first two episodes will be screened in theaters before its small-screen debut on Sept. 26. According to Buck, the partnership “gave us a lot more freedom and pushed and encouraged us to think a little bit bigger than we would if it was just a normal network show.”

“We just wanted to think bigger in terms of scope, and what we were seeing,” he says, “And how we bring these characters to the audience.”

Marvel’s Inhumans comes to IMAX theaters on Sept. 1, and ABC on Sept. 26.
