The episode titles and synopses – and a revealing photo – have finally been released for the hour-long premiere of The Big Bang Theory season 8.

Road trips, job interviews, and friendship pingpong will be the themes of the The Big Bang Theory season 8, episode 1 and 2. New information was released today about the premiere episodes, which will air in an hour-long block on the show’s new Monday time slot.

The Big Bang Theory season 8, episode 1 will be titled “The Locomotion Interruption.” According to the episode synopsis, last season’s minor cliffhanger, which left Sheldon traveling the country on a train, will quickly be resolved.

“Leonard and Amy take an unexpected road trip to Arizona to pick up Sheldon,” CBS says. “Meanwhile, Penny interviews for a job at Bernadette’s company, and Howard is weirded out by Stuart’s relationship with Mrs. Wolowitz.”

The synopsis for the second episode of the season, titled “The Junior Professor Solution,” says “When Sheldon is forced to teach a class, Howard surprises everyone by taking it. Meanwhile, the tension between Penny and Bernadette gives Amy a chance to play both sides.”

It looks like relationships both familial and friendly will be the focus of the The Big Bang Theory season 8 premiere. What will it be like when Sheldon returns to Pasadena? What will Sheldon be like as a professor? And why is Amy amping up the drama between Penny and Bernadette?

The first still image from The Big Bang Theory season 8, episode 1 doesn’t do much to answer these questions, but it does give us an unflinching look at Sheldon in his underwear… so really, everybody wins.

It looks like Sheldon’s track-trip may have come to a disappointing end, but that just means more hilarity for us!

The Big Bang Theory season 8, episode 1 and 2, will premiere on Monday, Sept. 22nd at 8:00 p.m. on CBS.
