The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies’ world premiere was earlier today, and now the studio has released the first two clips from the film featuring our first look at the massive battle that will take place in the final film. Watch the two clips below:

We’re very excited about The Hobbit trilogy coming to a close on December 17, and while fans have been split on the trilogy’s adaptation so far, we have to say that the footage we’ve seen from the final film looks promising.

Director Peter Jackson and his team have done an excellent job keeping fans involved in the process during these last few years, and it’s somewhat bittersweet that this will most likely be the final film involving Jackson and J.R.R. Tolkien’s works.

We look forward to seeing the aftermath of Smaug’s Laketown attack, and more importantly the Battle of the Five Armies, which refers to the fight between the Goblins and the Wargs against the Men of Dale, the Elves, the Dwarves, the Eagles and a Shape-shifter.

Peter Jackson recently stated that while the film’s battle will be 45 minutes long, fans shouldn’t expect to feel any battle fatigue. The film’s entire runtime is reportedly 144-minutes long.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies will be released in theaters worldwide on December 17, 2014.
