The upcoming film, The Butler, is biopic of the former White House butler Eugene Allen, who served under eight presidents.  Oprah, who stars in the film as Allen’s wife, posted a picture of her, director Lee Daniels, Alan Rickman as Ronald Reagan and Jane Fonda as Nancy Reagan!

Below is the picture, posted by Oprah on her twitter.

Here is a picture of Ronald and Nancy Reagan for comparison:

Oprah also tweeted another picture of her and co-star Lenny Kravitz as James Holloway, who was the Chief of Naval Operations at the end of the Vietnam War:

Also starring in this star-studded cast is Forest Whitaker as Eugene Allen, Robin Williams as Dwight Eisenhower, John Cusack as Richard Nixon, James Marsden as John F. Kennedy, Minka Kelly as Jackie Kennedy, Liev Schreiber as Lyndon B. Johnson, Nelsan Ellis as Martin Luther King, Jr., Jesse Williams as Rev. James Lawson, and many more!

The Butler is based off of journalist Wil Haygood’s newspaper article which chronicled Allen’s time in the White House under eight presidents.  Allen served in the White House for 34 years and retired in 1986, and did not miss a single day of work.  He died in 2010 at the age of 90.

The Butler is due out sometime in 2013. What are your thoughts on the pictures of Rickman, Fonda, Kravitz, and Oprah? As a president during the later years of the Cold War, Reagan is known for his iconic words “Mr. Gorbachev, Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” – do you think we’ll hear Rickman recite the speech in the film?
