MTV has released the first four episodes of The Shannara Chronicles online for you to watch now!
Clearly MTV is done messing around. They’ve been sitting on Shannara footage long enough and they’re ready to release it into the world.
You can now watch episode 1 and 2 “Chosen,” episode 3 “Fury,” and episode 4 “Changeling,” both at MTV.com and the MTV App.
The one caveat, however, seems to be that you have to have some sort of cable provider to sign in and watch.
And if YouTube is more of your jam, you can find also find episodes 1 and 2 there as well.
Trust us though, after you finish the two part premiere, you’re going to need episode 3 immediately. MTV did everyone a solid by releasing this batch of episodes online at once.
In addition, to remain fully upfront, watching the premiere a second time is going to do a lot of people good.
Due to the nature of the show, there’s a lot of information that needs to be delivered to the audience in that first episode. Therefore, the exposition laden debut does weigh down the episode a bit. Which is why a second watch was much more enjoyable to us. We got to enjoy the acting, characters and their relationship dynamics more because we weren’t trying to retain new information.
So that’s what we’re advising people to do. Watch the first episode. Walk away. And then sit down and watch the four episodes MTV just posted back-to-back-to-back-to-back.
Once you have an idea of what’s actually going on, the ease of being swept up into the story and its characters becomes so much more real.
