Warner Bros. and Amazon Studios’ upcoming adaptation of The Goldfinch just added another well-known actor to its star-studded cast.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard is the latest actor to join the cast of the highly anticipated big screen adaptation of The Goldfinch.

Based off Donna Tartt’s best-selling novel of the same name, The Goldfinch tells the story of a young man named Theo who loses his mother in a bombing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. After Theo is taken in by a wealthy family, he suddenly finds himself swept up in the art underworld of New York City.

Back in October of 2017, we learned that Baby Driver star Ansel Elgort had officially signed on to play Theo.

Meanwhile, Wolfhard has been tapped to play Young Boris. Wolfhard’s character in the film is described as a Ukranian student and a troublemaker. As the story progresses, we’ll see Boris and Theo bond over the fact that they both lost their mothers.

Elgort isn’t the only big name attached to The Goldfinch. The film, which is being directed by Brooklyn alumn John Crowley, also stars Sarah Paulson, Jeffrey Wright, Luke Wilson, and Aneurin Barnard.

Wolfhard is no stranger to the big screen. Most recently, horror fans will undoubtedly remember seeing the rising actor in 2017’s adaptation of Stephen King’s It.

Up next, fans will be able to catch Finn Wolfhard in the upcoming horror movie The Turning, and starring opposite Vampire Diaries alumn Nina Dobrev in Dog Day. He’ll also be continuing his relationship with Netflix by lending his voice to the upcoming Carmen Sandiego animated series.

The Goldfinch is set to begin shooting later this month and is slated to hit theaters on October 11, 2019.
