Daredevil season 2 is just around the corner, and the final trailer for the series offers up a lot of new footage.
Daredevil season 2 will premiere on Netlix on Friday, March 18, which means it’s time for the final trailer to tease us one last time before all 13 episodes are available to stream.
Without further ado, put your faith in the devil and see what’s next for the man in the mask:
The trailer shows us a lot of new footage, most of which seems to be from the second half of the season (press received only the first seven episodes ahead of release).
“I haven’t told you everything,” Stick says. “This city is ground zero in a war it doesn’t even know is happening, and everything will change. This war is bigger than everyone.”
“The Rising is coming,” someone else whispers.
Unlike the first trailer, which showed us The Punisher, and the second trailer, which showed us Elektra, this one is an equal balance between the two new characters and Matt Murdock’s Daredevil.
We’ve got detailed breakdowns of the first two trailers here and here, but as season 2 is only days away, we’re just going to highlight a few interesting shots below.
First is Stick’s return, who comic books fans will know has a relationship with a few other characters aside from Matt. We also see a man pulling a pair of sai from beneath his coat while Elektra is on the ground. These are her trademark weapons, and it’ll be interesting to see what sort of significance this scene will have for her story.
A shot of Frank Castle covered in blood is disconcerting to say the least, as is seeing a young woman in a cage, who later pops up with a few others who look like something is definitely wrong with them. And is that Gao saying, “I fear the path you’ve chosen is not going to be an easy one”?
At the end of the trailer, Elektra threatens Matt’s life before kissing him, which is probably the best depiction of their relationship to date.
