Dakota Johnson is in the running for the role of Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Grey, according to a new report.

The actress is best known for her role as Amelia Ritter in The Social Network but has also had roles in 21 Jump Street and the Fox television comedy Ben & Kate in the titular female role.

According to The Wrap, who broke the news, actor Charlie Hunman is one of several actors in the running for the lead male role of Christian Grey.

No final decisions have been made, and numerous people for both roles are under consideration. Casting is expected to wrap up within the next month because filming needs to begin this fall.

Fifty Shades of Grey is the adaptation of the wildly successful book trilogy of the same name by E.L. James, who Forbes recently revealed is the top earning author of 2013. Fifty Shades was the best-selling book of 2012.

Although the series was very popular last year, Universal (who has distribution rights) is in a race against time for two reasons. Not only do they now have a summer 2014 date set, but the public’s interest in Fifty Shades‘ has been waning naturally.

The Fifty Shades of Grey movie is set to hit theaters August 1, 2014. It will be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson.
