E.L. James’ Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy has outsold Harry Potter overall in Amazon’s United Kingdom store.

Amazon has sold over four million print and Kindle copies of Fifty Shades, making it the bestselling series of all time for the online marketplace.

In addition, the first book in the trilogy has outsold Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows overall.

An important thing to keep in mind: These numbers are not reflective on the country as a whole. Though it’s wildly popular on Amazon, Harry Potter still has Fifty Shades well beat in all other bookstores.

In recent weeks Fifty Shades has been putting the pressure on The Hunger Games in the United States to take the claim of 2012’s bestseller. Fifty Shades has sold over 20 million while The Hunger Games has sold over 26 million.
