Lead actor of The CW’s Arrow and obviously-hot guy Stephen Amell has revealed that he’s taken a meeting to play Christian in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie.

“I get questions about Christian Grey all the time,” he said in a video posted to his Facebook page. “That project is a long way off. I know this, because I had a meeting about it. Long way off. I mean, not that long, but not close. I wouldn’t call it long, but I wouldn’t call it close.”

What’s interesting is Amell hasn’t plainly denied he’ll be given the role, which means his name could still be in the ring.

His comments about the film’s production schedule were also interesting. In an interview earlier this year, Universal said it hopes to have the film in theaters by summer 2014.

Fifty Shades of Grey is a book-to-film adaptation of E.L. James’ “mommy porn” novel of the same name. The script is written by Kelly Marcel.

This is the first time we’re hearing from an actor or actress who has specifically said they’ve met for a role in the highly-anticipated film. Earlier this month there were rampant rumors about Emma Watson being in talks for the role of Anastasia, but the actress flatly denied them (and laughed) on Twitter.
