Fifty Shades of Grey author E.L. James has announced another book in her beloved romance series, and says that the first Fifty Shades Darker trailer is on the way.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, James shared two pages from her new Fifty Shades of Grey book, which the author is hoping to release in 2017. The book is simply Fifty Shades Darker from Christian’s point of view. Remember, the author released Grey, the Fifty Shades of Grey novel from Christian’s POV, last year.

The social media post was made to celebrate Ana’s birthday. The two-page sample finds Christian waiting for Ana to walk out of the book store. He gets really excited once it happens (“Fuck.“):

You’ll notice the bottom of the sample says the book is “hopefully” coming next year. The new Fifty Shades book is likely being timed with the theatrical release of Fifty Shades Darker, which will hit theaters in February 2017.

The final movie, Fifty Shades Freed, will open in February 2018. Presumably James will complete the POV-swapped saga by publishing Christian’s version of Freed in the years ahead.

The Fifty Shades Darker trailer is arriving “soon,” says James. With about five months to go until the movie opens in theaters, we imagine we’re not too far off from lots of promotion starting up.

Update: The first Fifty Shades Darker trailer arrives Tuesday, September 13. To celebrate the news, the studio released the first poster, asking viewers to “slip into something a shade darker”:

A sequel to Grey was inevitable — the book sold over 1 million copies in its first four days.

We’ll be sure to share the Fifty Shades Darker trailer once it’s released online!
