Two years ago E.L. James published Grey — it’s Fifty Shades of Grey from Christian’s perspective. Now, Grey is getting a sequel.

Darker — which is obviously Fifty Shades Darker from Christian’s perspective — is set to be released in the United States and United Kingdom on November 28. In a statement, James tried to explain the reason for writing this book, which her publisher says is “full of surprises.”

“The inside of Christian Grey’s head is a fascinating place to be,” James said. “In Grey we got the first glimpse of what makes Christian tick, but in Darker we go deeper, into his most painful memories and the encounters that made him the damaged, demanding man Ana falls in love with.”

The cover for Darker can be seen below. Grey went on to sell 4 million copies — great sale numbers for any writer — so Darker’s publication was probably inevitable. Should Darker do well, we’re sure Freed will be penned as well.

Meanwhile, the third film in the Fifty Shades of Grey series, Fifty Shades Freed, hits theaters this February. It’s the last movie — unless these spinoff books get adaptations ?
