There’s going to be a lot of confusion amongst the fictional people of Los Angeles when Fear The Walking Dead premieres in August.

Two new teaser trailers show one of The Walking Dead spinoff’s lead characters named Madison (played by Kim Dickens) struggling to understand what is causing a mysterious illness taking over the country. She appears to be in denial of any sort of serious trouble when a student comes to speak with her at the school she works at as a guidance counselor:

In the second teaser we see Madison driving around with her husband Travis (Cliff Curtis). They come across a series of “missing” posters and even spot a walker:

The Walking Dead companion series “takes us back to the beginning of the zombie apocalypse – a time when the world was changing rapidly for reasons unknown, before anyone understood exactly what was happening, when life as everyone knew it was upended and altered in ways no one could have ever imagined,” reads an official synopsis.

Two other teasers have been recently over the past few weeks. The very first one only depicted a radio report hinting at trouble, while the second one showed Frank Dillane’s character Nick desperately on the run from something.

We really like the direction the spinoff is taking since we didn’t get to see the first days of the outbreak in the original Walking Dead series which enters its sixth season this fall. It’ll be interesting to see how everyone who survived the initial outbreak comes to accept the fact that their former friends and family members are now un-dead.

AMC appears to be releasing these teasers at a steady pace, so we’ll continue to update this article as more Fear The Walking Dead previews are released. We expect a big trailer next month at San Diego Comic-Con!
