The cast and crew of Fear the Walking Dead were at San Diego Comic-Con, and they teased what’s to come in the latter half of season 3.

Hosted by Chris Hardwick, San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H held the Fear the Walking Dead panel where we learned some interesting tidbits about our favorite problematic group.

Infected Travis

Sorry conspiracy theorists. It looks as though Travis truly is dead-dead. When prompted by an audience member, it was revealed that we would not be seeing an infected Travis. This could mean one of two things:

First, that this is a matter of semantics. We won’t be seeing ‘infected Travis,’ but we’ll be seeing ‘alive Travis.’ No body, no death. Right?

Well, given Travis fell out of a helicopter however many hundreds of feet in the air, it’s unlikely he survived. Alternatively, realistically, we’re not going to see infected Travis because Travis is dead. If you’ve been holding out hope for Travis’ return, you should probably say your final farewells now.

Relationships

When discussing Alicia and Jake’s relationship, Alycia Debnam Carey said that despite what Alicia told Madison, she does have real feelings for Jake, “It doesn’t have to be about her falling in love with someone or her being with someone, but it is a natural part of life, wanting to have companionship.” Alicia’s character isn’t defined by her relationship with Jake, “but it also doesn’t mean [Alicia doesn’t] have to have it.”

As for the weirdly sexually maternal relationship between Madison and Troy, Daniel Sharman explained that Troy does in fact know Madison is playing him, but he likes it, “Troy is as much playing a game as she is, and he is enjoying the fact that she even thinks she has the upper hand.” If Troy does in fact know the game Madison is playing, surely it’s only a matter of time before Troy has had enough of it, and defies Madison.

Everyone better watch out for the day Madison loses control of Troy. Or maybe Troy ought to be wary of Madison the day he stops listening to her.

Trailer Breakdown

The trailer for the second half of season 3 also premiered. Check it out below:

Tensions are predictably high as the Broke Jaw Ranch group must live peacefully with the Black Hat Reservation group. Of course Troy is not on board with this new allegiance, but Madison believes she can handle him. Based on Sharman’s comments above though, Madison may be in for more than she can handle.

In addition, water is rapidly running out. Bratty Troy may end up being the least of anyone’s concern once they’re all dehydrated. It’s going to be every man for himself in no time.

The trailer revealed that our group finally gets back together in some capacity. Madison reunites with Daniel and Victor in what could be separate occasions, but probably not. If only for our sanity, just get the group back together already.
