1) A Hazel and Gus kiss: Right at the start of the trailer we’re treated to some romance. This moment appears to take place in the Anne Frank house.

2) Mom being mom: Mrs. Lancaster (played by Laura Dern) brings Hazel food and medicine as the daughter watches some reality television.

3) Patrick sings some songs: The character played by Mike Birbiglia looks like he’s bringing some great laughs. In this scene, he plays a couple songs to cheer up support group.

4) Hazel reads a familiar book: The lead character reads “An Imperial Affliction” while in a Barnes & Noble. The book plays a prominent role in the story.

5) Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster on pot: When Hazel uses the phrase “take pot,” Mr. Lancaster is quick to correct her. (For what it’s worth, it’s the Mrs. who makes the correction in John Green’s book).

6) Gus and the cigarette: The smile on Gus’ face is priceless right before he explains his metaphor to Hazel.

7) Isaac!: In this trailer we’re treated to a couple lines from Gus and Hazel’s friend Isaac played by Nat Wolff. This scene is after the swing is sold.

8) Swinging away: Gus and Hazel share a ride on the latter’s swing set before it’s sold. Gus and the swing set may be wearing the same colors for a certain sad reason.

9) The peek at Hazel: Gus sneaks a peek at his lady while they’re on her couch watching television one afternoon. His slow turn is great.

10) “I am in love with you, Hazel Grace”: Gus leans in and professes his love for Hazel on date night in Amsterdam. It’s perfect.

11) The shirt is stuck!: Hazel has a hard time getting her shirt off when they’re about to make love in an Amsterdam hotel room.

12) The rock star look: Gus rolls up in the limo to take them to the airport for their Amsterdam trip. He has the cigarette hanging out of his mouth.

What’s your most smile-worthy moment in the trailer?
