A new report from a local Pittsburgh newspaper confirms with the city’s film office that The Fault in Our Stars will begin shooting precisely on August 26.

Most interesting, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that The Fault in Our Stars will be released in 2015.

That time frame comes as a slight surprise because producer Wyck Godfrey told Hypable last year that the film was aiming for release in 2013 or 2014. We’ve reached out to Fox to seek confirmation about 2015 but have not heard back yet.

The Pittsburgh film office says that The Fault in Our Stars is the first movie to shoot in the city in 2013. Readers may recall that the book to film adaptation of Stephen Chbosky’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower was also shot in the Pennsylvania city.

Although many scenes in the book take place in Indianapolis, filmmakers will use Pittsburgh to shoot because of film tax credits. They will also shoot in Amsterdam, which is where later scenes in the book take place.

The Fault in Our Stars is the film adaptation of John Green’s young adult novel of the same name. Shailene Woodley stars as Hazel Grace and Ansel Elgort will play Augustus Waters.

Woodley and Elgort are currently wrapping work on Divergent, which is shooting in Chicago. They play brother and sister Tris and Caleb.

We learned earlier this week that Fault will be scored by two of Bright Eyes’ band members.
