With the Fantastic Four reboot on the verge of being green-lit, actors Kit Harington, Kate Mara, and Saoirse Ronan are lining up for the key roles in the 20th Century Fox film.

While writer Simon Kinberg was recently brought on to partially rewrite the script for the Fantastic Four reboot, it seems Fox is ready to start meeting with lead actors.

Variety reports that Kit Harington, Jack O’Connell, Kate Mara, Saoirse Ronan, and Miles Teller are all testing for roles in the reboot. Harington, O’Connell, and Teller are testing for the role of Richards, while Ronan, Mara, and Margot Robbie are testing for the role of Susan Storm.

Harington is best known for his role on Game of Thrones, while Kate Mara is best known for her incredible work on Netflix’s Emmy award-winning series House of Cards.

Saoirse Ronan was recently seen in author Stephenie Meyer’s The Host, and just finished up her role in How to Catch a Monster. Saoirse also confirmed that she auditioned for Star Wars: Episode VII last week.

It’s been rumored that Michael B. Jordan was the only actor being looked at to play Johnny Storm (The Human Torch), but Fox has yet to confirm that the rumors are true.

It may help Jordan that Josh Trank is directing the film, as they worked together when Trank directed Chronicle. The goal of the reboot is to reinvigorate the Fantastic Four franchise, and attempt to mirror the success of X-Men: First Class.

They’re certainly headed in the right direction by testing some of the top young actors in Hollywood, and we imagine Fox is looking to make this a major part of their portfolio for the next few years.

Once the studio gets the final script from Kinberg, we’re certain to see some lead casting announcements once production dates are set. No actors have been mentioned or even speculated about for the villain in the film or for the character Ben Grimm (The Thing).

Gregory Goodman (X-Men: First Class) and Matthew Vaughn (Kick Ass 2) are producing the Fantastic Four reboot with 20th Century Fox. The film’s release date is set for March 6, 2015.
