Fox have officially hired Josh Trank to relaunch the Thing and friends, while Daredevil won’t be seeing the Twilight Saga director anytime soon.

It’s hardly a surprise given the critical and commercial success of Trank’s low-budget superpower hit, but Fox have snapped up the young director to breathe fresh life into the flagging franchise. According to Deadline, Fantastic Four will be the next Marvel property to enter production with a completely new cast and crew.

Meanwhile, Eclipse and 30 Days of Night director David Slade has had to drop out of his planned Daredevil reboot so he can shoot the pilot episode of a planned Hannibal TV series. No replacement has been made yet, but Fox will need to get their skates on if they want to avoid the rights reverting back to Marvel.

Do you think Trank can steer the Fantastic Four franchise in the right direction? How will Daredevil fare without Slade?
