The first trailer for Fox’s Fantastic Four trailer has just been released! See Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell in action.
Finally, we’ve got our first look at the new Fantastic Four team. Check out the trailer below, which was released Tuesday by Fox:

The four characters – who transform into Mr. Fantastic, the Thing, the Human Torch and the Invisible Woman over the course of the movie – all have neat little defining personality moments in the trailer. Miles Teller’s Reed Richards is obviously the lead character, as he was in the 2005 version (played by Ioan Gruffudd).
Interestingly, our first look at the reboot movie focuses mainly on the characters before the event which transforms them into their superhero alter-egos. Indeed, this trailer seems to set up an epic, emotional movie, which looks like it’ll focus on the human aspect of the characters rather than the superhuman.
Released only 10 years after the first Fantastic Four movie (starring Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd, Michael Chiklis and Chris Evans), people are understandably skeptical about the reboot – which doesn’t exactly have the star power of the original.
But maybe that’s a good thing; we’ve got younger players this time around, who may be at a time in their lives where a physical transformation based on their personalities might more easily be thematically linked to their transformations as young adults into the people they’ll be for the rest of their lives. And hey, a little symbolism never hurt anyone.
