In brief new comments made on the Paddington red carpet over the weekend, producer David Heyman offered an update on Fantastic Beasts.

The Harry Potter producer, who’s returning for J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, told The Telegraph that the author’s script is now complete.

In addition, he finds the script “wonderful.”

“It’s early stages. David Yates is directing and we start filming next year. I’m just really excited about it,” he said.

Rowling recently teased that she was putting the finishing touches on the Fantastic Beasts script.

In September Warner Bros. confirmed that Fantastic Beasts will be the first movie in “at least” a trilogy. They also revealed that Harry Potter screenwriter Steve Kloves is back in some capacity.

While the studio didn’t reveal what Kloves is up to, one could assume that since he wrote seven out of eight Potter scripts, he’s helping Rowling, a first time screenwriter, with her Fantastic Beasts script.

With filming set to begin sometime in 2015, hopefully we’ll be learning about who will play the lead role of Newt Scamander in the next few months.

Hearing Heyman say that they start filming next year makes this feel a lot more real. Soon we’ll be hearing about Newt’s co-stars, which will help us learn more about the plot.

“Newt only meant to stay in New York for a few hours. Circumstances ensured that he remained… for the length of a movie, anyway,” Rowling told fans in October about the film.

Fantastic Beasts opens in theaters November 2016.
