Harry Potter actress Emma Watson says she’s “definitely” interested in a cameo during J.K. Rowling’s new spinoff series Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Speaking to MTV at the Noah junket, the actress who played Hermione Granger in all eight Potter movies said that she would “definitely be up for a cameo” if she were invited to appear.

Although the news and quote are pretty insignificant, we’re so excited for this franchise and desperate for news about it that we had to share the comment from Watson.

We imagine that the actress’ interest in making a small appearance comes from the fact that she’s always been a huge fan of the Harry Potter books and is appreciative of Rowling for giving her the opportunity to play one of the characters.

If she does appear, it won’t be as Hermione. Fantastic Beasts is set in New York during the 1920s. Perhaps she’ll play an elder member of the Granger family who happens to be in the United States.

This isn’t the first time we’re hearing of Watson’s interest in a cameo. In an interview she conducted with Rowling for Wonderland Magazine last month, the Harry Potter writer came up with a way for them, Rupert Grint, and Dan Radcliffe to appear in the new series following Newt Scamander. “I tell you what I really want. I want you and Dan and Rupert in really heavy make-up in the background of a scene in Fantastic Beasts,” Rowling said, “And I’ll join you and we’ll sit in a bar room having a laugh for an afternoon. And then we can see if anyone can spot us. I personally would like to be in drag, just to make sure no one can spot me at all.”

Fantastic Beasts will be produced by David Heyman and distributed by Warner Bros., who handled the Harry Potter films.

Thanks to MTV for the little quote.
