The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley art director Alan Gilmore has suggested that our first look at the Fantastic Beasts movie may be at the new theme park land.

USA Today reports that the “strange looking animals” seen in the Magical Menagerie shop are “the first time that the beasts have been visualized.” Said Gilmore, “It will give visitors a peek at the next wave of Harry Potter,” referring to the new spinoff movie written by J.K. Rowling.

The article includes a photo of three creatures seen on the second level of Diagon Alley’s Magical Menagerie shop. The one on the far right is a Crumple-Horned Snorkack, a creature that Luna Lovegood searched for with her father for years but never came across. In the book she comes to accept that the Snorkack never existed, but its appearance at the Magical Menagerie shops could suggest that it might live in the fictional world after all.

When we visited Diagon Alley last month we took photos of these same creatures and are now offering our high-res stills so you can see the details.

When Warner Bros. and J.K. Rowling announced the Fantastic Beasts spinoff trilogy, the studio’s CEO noted that the new franchise would be extended into Universal’s Wizarding World lands via an “attraction.” We believe that these references in Magical Menagerie are only the start of what Universal has planned.

Fantastic Beasts will open in theaters November 2016. A director and cast members have yet to be finalized.

If the creatures at Magical Menagerie look anything like the ones that’ll be appearing in the movie, Fantastic Beasts should be a remarkably whimsical and colorful story.
