What kind of vibe can we expect from Fantastic Beasts when it opens in theaters in less than three (!) weeks?

As we approach the film’s November 18 opening, WB has been rolling out several clips that give us an intimate sense of the characters, setting, and beasts. No need for a spoiler warning — all of these scenes appear to be inconsequential. Watch a few Fantastic Beasts movie clips below:

‘Fantastic Beasts’ clips 1 and 2: Newt, Jacob, and the Niffler

Two fun moments from the film that don’t necessarily contribute to the overall plot, these two scenes show Newt (played by Eddie Redmayne) chasing after a Niffler as Jacob (Dan Fogler) watches in disbelief.

These two clips will quickly sell you on the Niffler. They reveal just how adorable the little critter is:

Clip 3: An interrogation

In this scene, Graves (Colin Farrell) speaks to Newt after his beasts have broken out of his case. As we saw in a trailer a few months ago, there are references here to Dumbledore, and Newt’s removal from Hogwarts:

Clip 4: Pie or strudel?

Queenie (Alison Sudol) cooks dinner for Newt in this magical scene. It gives you a Molly Weasley/Burrow vibe, doesn’t it?

What I like about these clips is that they all focus on the magic of the Wizarding World. The Harry Potter series took some flack during the later films for taking out a lot of the “magic,” and the discovery of that magic, that the first two or three movies held.

Fantastic Beasts appears to put a focus on the little, every day magic — something that should be a welcomed sight to Potter fans.

The movie hits theaters November 18. Four more will arrive in the years ahead.

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is an all-new adventure returning us to the wizarding world created by J.K. Rowling. Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything) stars in the central role of wizarding world Magizoologist Newt Scamander, under the direction of David Yates.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them also stars Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Jon Voight, Carmen Ejogo, Ron Perlman, Jenn Murray, Faith Wood-Blagrove, and Colin Farrell.”
