With filming set to begin on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them very soon, outdoor sets appear to be under construction at Leavesden Studios.

A user named TheGraninger on Twitter has either been stalking the sets or recently took a trip to the Harry Potter Studio Tour. The fan snapped a bunch of photos this week depicting vertical construction outside the primary shooting location for Fantastic Beasts.

The photos depict massive sets for Fantastic Beasts and one equally large green screen:

The sets are presumably for shooting large exterior scenes — perhaps any scene set outdoors on busy New York streets. Remember, Fantastic Beasts is set in the Big Apple, and with shooting set to take place in England, it was inevitable that these types of sets would be built.

Expect more photos to surface — perhaps pictures that are more interesting — in the weeks ahead as principal photography gets underway.

As production begins to get under way, director David Yates and producer David Heyman have been shoring up the cast. Yesterday we learned that Colin Farrell has been cast as a character named Graves, and a 10-year-old girl has joined the project in the role of someone named Modesty.

Leavesden Studios is where all eight Harry Potter movies were filmed, so it’s bittersweet that Fantastic Beasts will also shoot there. Like this new spinoff series, the Harry Potter films would frequently construct sets outdoors (like Privet Drive).

Since Deathly Hallows, Part 2 wrapped filming a few years ago, Warner Bros. has built a permanent Studio Tour which includes props, costumes, Butterbeer, and sets like the Great Hall.

Fantastic Beasts starring Eddie Redmayne will open in theaters November 2016. It is the first film in a planned trilogy — the sequels are slated for November 2018 and November 2020.
