Legendary actor Jon Voight has joined the cast of Fantastic Beasts, as well as Gemma Chan and Carmen Ejogo.

With Fantastic Beasts filming in England with Eddie Redmayne starring as Newt, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the film’s cast has added three new actors including Jon Voight, Gemma Chan and Carmen Ejogo.

Unfortunately we’re not hearing anything about their roles today. Time to start asking J.K. Rowling on Twitter!

The cast of the Harry Potter spinoff is becoming massive, with Ezra Miller, Colin Farrell, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, and Samantha Morton.

Harry Potter director David Yates is directing Fantastic Beasts, with J.K. Rowling writing the film’s script. We’ve been expecting some new information about the film as it began principal photography, but new cast members are a little surprising.

Gemma Chan stars in Humans, while Carmen Ejogo was in the critically acclaimed film Selma. Actor Jon Voight has been around Hollywood for decades, and is Angelina Jolie’s biological father. He’s known for roles in films like Mission Impossible and Transformers as well as TV shows like 24 and Ray Donavan.

Voight is an excellent actor and has been in dozens of films, so he should be an incredible addition to Fantastic Beasts’ cast. We look forward to finding out who he’ll be playing.

Like many of the characters in Fantastic Beasts (so far), we’re going to have to wait until the movie to learn more about them. We’re still hoping that J.K. Rowling spends a little time getting us all up to speed on these characters before next November.

Fantastic Beasts opens November 2016 and stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander.
