The fourth lead cast member in J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has been found.

Deadline reports that Tony winner Dan Fogler has been cast in the upcoming Harry Potter spinoff series as Jacob. Although the character has been previously described as Newt’s “rival,” the report says Newt will “befriend” Jacob in the film.

Jacob is also described as a muggle, so if we were to take a guess at how the relationship between the two characters plays out, we’d say that Jacob starts to resent Newt because of his magical powers. Rowling will make it play out in a more complicated fashion, of course.

What Jacob and Newt will be sparring over is still unclear, but we do know that Scamander will be visiting New York to do some research on magical creatures. Perhaps Jacob is in a similar line of work?

With Fogler joining the cast, Fantastic Beasts now has its four leads in place. Eddie Redmayne will play Newt, Katherine Waterston will play Newt’s eventual wife Tina, and Alison Sudol will play Queenie, Tina’s sister.

Filming on Fantastic Beasts is expected to kick off later this summer. The movie opens in theaters next November.

With the four leads now in place, it wouldn’t be surprising if Warner Bros. formally announced the group this weekend during the panel at San Diego Comic-Con. No Fantastic Beasts event has been announced, but the studio did tease that there will be some surprises during their panel.

Fogler won a Tony for his role in the musical “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”
