The BAFTA 2017 nominations are in: La La Land, Arrival, and Nocturnal Animals lead the field! But the British awards show has some love for Fantastic Beasts, too.

Is La La Land already a shoe-in for Best Picture at the 2017 Oscar Awards, or can its close contenders Moonlight, Manchester by the Sea or even Arrival push it off its throne?

After a complete Golden Globes takeover, the Damien Chazelle musical seems poised to sweep the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards, too, with a leading 11 nominations.

Close behind are Arrival and Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals, that each received nine nominations on Tuesday morning.

Genre fans will be pleased to see Harry Potter prequel Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them recognized as well, with five nominations, including one for Outstanding British Film, where American Honey is also honored.

One thing Fantastic Beasts was not recognized for is Best Screenplay — whether that would be original or adapted — for Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, who made her debut with Newt’s tale. Do you think she was snubbed?

Meanwhile, overrated actress Meryl Streep continues to impress, with a nomination for Leading Actress.

But here is a surprising lack of recognition for Fences, which only picked up one nomination (Viola Davis as Supporting Actress).

See the full list of nominations below. The nominees were announced by Sophie Turner and Dominic Cooper, and the ceremony itself takes place Sunday, February 12.
