Several new photos from Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald have been released in recent days, and all offer something to talk about.

Best of all, we have our first look at Dumbledore (played by Jude Law) at Hogwarts. He appears to be in his classroom. Behind him is — based on his wardrobe — a visiting wizard.

As we previously reported, there was a good amount of filming at old Hogwarts locations used in the Harry Potter days, so we expect to see quite a bit of the school as Dumbledore and Newt rendezvous (YAY).

Next up is a photo of Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) out in the streets. According to USA Today, the character behind him is Rosier (Poppy Corby-Tuech), a follower of Grindy’s.

USA Today also shares these details from David Yates about Dumbledore and Grindelwald:

Dumbledore is a teacher at Hogwarts who “refuses to conform to the status quo” and is “passionate, mischievous and an inspiration” to his young students, says director David Yates. “Dumbledore sees Newt as a kindred spirit, an outsider, who is misunderstood. They recognize each other’s strengths and vulnerabilities.” The heroes face a formidable foe in the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp), whose dangerous ideology involves “suppressing all non-magical beings, whom he views as inferior to wizards,” Yates says. “He’s a charismatic figure who uses his undeniable appeal to inspire others to blindly follow his cause.”

Finally we have two photos depicting Newt. In one he’s back with his new friend and wife-to-be, Tina! In the other he’s holding a Paris postcard. Looks like he’s feeling up for a visit, doesn’t he? (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is primarily set in the French city.)

Editor’s note: Johnny Depp, who co-stars in this film, allegedly beat his ex-wife Amber Heard. These accusations were made by Heard and Depp’s former associates. J.K. Rowling responded to the controversy. Why are we telling you this?
