A new photo from the set of the Fantastic Beasts sequel reveals that Newt Scamander will be holding a launch party for his book in Diagon Alley.

Newt Scamander’s “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” first published in our Muggle world in the early 2000s, was the basis for J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World spinoff film series. We’re grateful she wrote it, so it’s fitting that the sequel will celebrate its fictional publication!

#WizardingWednesdays, the film’s weekly peek into FB 2, has shared a photo of a sign promoting a release party for Newt Scamander’s book of beasts. The event is being hosted by Flourish & Blotts and Obscurus Books (the latter is the publisher), and the event is dated Saturday, March 19 (presumably 1927). “A newly published author must have a book launch party. Newt Scamander has been busy,” @FantasticBeasts writes on Twitter.

This confirms that we’ll be returning to London and Diagon Alley* (YAY!). It’ll be great to see what the wizarding street looked like in the ’20s, long before Harry Potter visited it.

We imagine it’ll remind us of this scene from Chamber of Secrets:

And that’s not the only location we’ll be returning to. A few weeks ago we learned that we’ll be returning to Hogwarts.

A book launch party could be a great way for J.K. Rowling to get American characters Jacob, Tina, and Queenie overseas (Remember: The sequel is set to take place in Paris). If something bad happens before, during, or after the book launch party, Newt’s new friends could get tied in with the Magizoologist and Dumbledore as they continue battling Grindelwald.

*Good theme park promo.

Editor’s note: Johnny Depp, who co-stars in this film, allegedly beat his ex-wife Amber Heard. These accusations were made by Heard and Depp’s former associates. Why are we telling you this?
