We hope these six creatures make an appearance in Newt’s suitcase in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

With so many characters featuring in the second installment of the Fantastic Beasts film series, we’ve been getting concerned that we won’t get to see much of Newt and his creatures, at all.

Thankfully, David Heyman has now confirmed that there will be “as many beasts in the film as in the first!”

Creatures like the Niffler, the Demiguise, and the Occamy were a highlight of the first Fantastic Beasts film, so we certainly hope that we get to see them again, but we’d also love to see some appearances by creatures that we haven’t met, yet.

We’ve taken a look at the beasts in the wizarding world, and picked out a few that could (and hopefully will) feature in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. Pictures and descriptors of the creatures have been taken from Bloomsbury’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, written by J.K. Rowling and illustrated by Olivia Lomenech Gill.

Chizpurfle

Described as “small parasites,” these crab-like creatures are “attracted to magic.” They’re known to infest the homes of wizards to attack and eat magical objects, such as wands. Why would we want to see Chizpurfles in Fantastic Beasts? Well, since they eventually make it to the core of the wand, they could offer one explanation as to why Newt’s wand is missing a core.

Crup

Even though the Crup is described as being “intensely loyal to wizards and ferocious towards Muggles,” we can totally see Jacob winning one of these little guys over. We’re hoping that Jacob will only become more and more attached to the magical world, and owning a Crup would be the perfect pet compromise for Jacob and Queenie.

Dragon

We’ve already seen tons of dragons in the Harry Potter series, but if we’re gearing up for a wizarding war with Newt at the forefront, it only seems right that this beautifully powerful creature would feature, at some point. It’s also been confirmed that there will be a new Chinese creature in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, so it could be the Chinese Fireball.

Phoenix

And we don’t mean just any phoenix. Albus Dumbledore will be making his first appearance in the Fantastic Beasts franchise in The Crimes of Grindelwald, and it’s very likely that he’ll already have his beloved pet, Fawkes! Seeing Dumbledore with his trusty feathered companion would just make the connection to the Harry Potter series even stronger.

Snallygaster

The Occamy is definitely one of Newt’s most formidable beasts, both in terms of its beauty and its power. A cool way to get to see the Occamy in action would be if it faced off against its “relative,” the Snallygaster. The look of the beast has Grindelwald written all over it. It doesn’t breathe fire, but it does have serrated steel fangs, so it’d definitely be a worthy opponent for Newt’s Occamy.

Snidget

The main reason why we want to see the Golden Snidget in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, is because it once played an important role in the game of Quidditch! As is easily deduced from its name and appearance, the bird used to act as the Snitch, before the species became protected. It would be amazing to see an old school game of Quidditch in the Fantastic Beasts movies, especially if one of these little guys featured.

Which ‘Fantastic Beasts’ do you want to see in ‘The Crimes of Grindelwald’?
