There was a time, before Josh Hutcherson became the face of Peeta Mellark, when many fans hoped Hunter Parrish would take on the coveted role. As it turns out, he wanted to be in the movies almost as badly as some of his fans.

Parrish, best known for his role as Silas Botwin in Weeds, discussed playing Jesus in Godspell (His run ends in just 2 weeks!), the upcoming season of Weeds, and revealed he wanted to be in The Hunger Games movie, during a live chat Thursday.

The actor expressed his love for the series, after being asked what book he would take with him on a deserted island. He then joked, “I’m still not supporting opening weekend, because I wanted to be in the movie, and also I’m working.”
