For Buffy fans, this is the best thing that has come out of Halloween since “Fear, Itself.” Kate Nash performs Once More, With Feeling live and it is epic.

To celebrate Halloween, British singer Kate Nash joined forces with Emmy the Great to put on a fantastic, geeky show last night at London’s Hackney Picturehouse, during which they re-created the legendary Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical episode, “Once More, With Feeling.”

The show opened with the Buffy theme by Nerf Herfer (with lots of base, just as it should be), and Nash then went on to sing some of the musical’s greatest numbers. You’ll want to listen to them all, and luckily they have been put online so we can all enjoy them.

Here, Nash performs the opening number (originally sung by Buffy herself), “Going Through the Motions”:

Next up is the big group number “I’ve Got a Theory,” and we don’t blame them at all for messing up the fast-paced lyrics at all!

Xander and Anya’s duet “I’ll Never Tell” is beautiful, and suits Nash’s voice particularly well we think (even if she does sing Xander’s part):

They’ve got someone else on stage to sing Spike’s “Rest in Peace,” and he does a pretty good imitation of James Marsters:

Even Marti Noxon’s “The Parking Ticket” makes its way into this show:

The demon Sweet’s song “What You Feel” performed by Nash with one of the band members, who is wearing a very dedicated costume we might add:

Giles’ “Standing” is probably our favourite number of the bunch, not only because of the original, beautiful version by Anthony Steward Head, but because Kate Nash and Emmy sing it beautifully:

The next group number is “Walk Through the Fire,” which Nash says is her favourite (too bad one of the men has a lot of trouble remembering the words):

And finally, the big finale: “Where Do We Go From Here”! This one is great as well, and leaves off with another round of the epic theme tune:

What did you think about these performances?! Which one was your favourite? And do you think the songs suited Kate Nash and Emmy the Great’s voices?

This is the best kind of geekery, and we’re very happy to be able to share it with you all! Thank you to @paprikacrocante who brought it to our attention on Twitter, and to Bleeding Cool for writing about it, too.

And, okay, we’re not gonna lie… we’re off to watch Buffy‘s original “Once More With Feeling” right now. How about you?
