Fox might have axed Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but after the cancellation sparked huge outrage from fans, the show might not be as dead as we all feared.

Fans were furious to hear that Fox axed the comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It was a show that was funny without being offensive, one that featured a highly diverse cast, and offered LGBTQ representation in thoughtful, nuanced ways. Losing that program felt like the loss of a true ally, and fans were understandably hurt.

It didn’t take long for the internet firestorm to begin, either. Fans quickly tweeted out their rage and heartbreak over Fox’s decision, and as it turns out, some important folks noticed.

In fact, several other outlets took notice. It’s not totally unheard of for a streaming service to swoop in and save a show that was axed by network TV before its time. Hulu did it for The Mindy Project and Netflix did it for Arrested Development.

According to Deadline, Hulu saw the internet outrage and is considering saving Brooklyn Nine-Nine from the pit of cancellation. Hulu is the SVOD home for the Nine-Nine, so it would be a pretty natural pairing.

However, Deadline reports that some other traditional television networks have expressed interest in the show as well. TBS has off-network rights for the show, so adding new episodes would only strengthen the Nine-Nine’s presence on TBS.

NBC is another network that could be a potential home for the show. With showrunners, Dan Goor and Michael Shur of Parks and Recreation fame at the helm of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, so heading back to NBC could be a welcome move for the show.

Of course, nothing is set in stone yet, but with so many potential homes and networks interested in hosting the show, we just might not have seen the last of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. So keep tweeting your love and support for the show, and we might just get our Brooklyn buddies back!
