Near the end of Comic-Con this year Gotham launched a contest for fans to create trailers inspired by the original. Now they’ve selected a winner, and it’s hysterical!

In the summer we got a glimpse of Fox’s new show Gotham in a movie-style trailer, which gives off creepy, dark vibes:

And when they released the trailer above, they also opened a contest to fans all over the U.S. to recreate a shot or scene from it. Fox (understandably) got a ton of submissions and they put the best and weirdest shots together to create the weirdest trailer you’ll ever probably see for a TV show:

Some people went the normal route and shot their friends and/or football players, but then others thought of the brilliant idea to make a trailer with just fruits and vegetables and toy cars. Combined, these shots make for an amazing Gotham trailer.

And you should absolutely check out these videos side by side, just to get a glimpse of how scarily accurate these shots were:

The Gotham fan-made trailer isn’t just appearing online – you’ll be able to see it air on TV next Thursday during a repeat episode of Sleepy Hollow.

So tell us us, what did you think of the fan-made trailer? We think it’s just as good as (if not better than) the real thing!

‘Gotham’ premieres this fall on Fox on Monday, September 22 at 8:00 p.m. eastern
