A new report says a lead character on an “established,” hour-long fall drama is due to be killed off in the near future.

Update: This blind item has been unmasked! It turns out this was about Abbie Mills (played by Nicole Beharie) on tonight’s episode of Sleepy Hollow. Will this twist stick going into the new year? In an interview with TV Line, showrunner Clifton Campbell said, “We don’t quite know where she goes. It’s very disturbing to see her disappear in that way. The astute viewer will notice that there have been things about the tree, the lair and the story we’ve been telling in the first half [of the season] that will suggest what fate Abbie may have met… It’s going to be very daunting and very illuminating when we all realize what happened to her.”

TV Line has learned that a certain series will be killing off a significant character described as a “co-lead” in the fall finale.

The report warns that the character’s death may not be permanent, but “the episode in question will leave viewers with the very real impression that this fan favorite is a goner.”

Since it’s the fall finale, viewers will be wondering until spring whether or not the character lived or died.

So now we’re wondering: Who is it? We’ve speculated over blind items in the past and it’s time to do it again!

– Andrew’s pick: Scandal is going to kill off Jake. He’s been on death’s door as recently as season 4, but that time the secret about his fate was leaked thanks to some mistakenly-released stills. Jake’s role on the series has become diminished in recent episodes, especially now that he and Olivia are never ever getting back together. Even if it isn’t Jake, this blind item fits Scandal because the show loves to go back and forth on the fates of characters.

– Brittany’s pick: It may be time for the namesake on Bones to bow out! Now in season 11, the show is due for a major overhaul, especially with the main couple hinting that a breakup may not be too far in the future. Odds are that either Emily Deschanel (Brennan “Bones” Temperance) or David Boreanaz (Seeley Booth) will be on the receiving end of a fatal shot (and a contract pay out) later this fall.

– John’s pick: With one death per episode promised by creator Ryan Murphy, it may be time for Scream Queens to start axing some of the bigger characters of the series. Moving into episode 7 this coming Tuesday, there are relatively no smaller characters left in the season to kill off. Every character who has survived to this point in the season is a major recurring character. So who’s going to succumb to the Red Devil? Could it be Emma Roberts’ Chanel? Lea Michele’s Hester? Could Dean Munsch, played by horror legend Jamie Lee Curtis, be saying goodbye?

Who do you think is about to be killed off?

Let the speculation begin!
