Avengers vets Falcon and Winter Soldier are making their way over to Disney’s upcoming streaming service.

According to Variety, Disney is in the process of developing a brand new limited series which will feature Falcon and Winter Soldier for their yet-to-be-released streaming service.

This isn’t the first we’ve heard of Disney looking to expand the MCU to the small screen via their new streaming platform.

Just a few months back, we caught wind of the fact that the studio was in the process of developing limited series revolving around fan favorite Avengers Loki and Scarlet Witch.

The difference here is that the new Falcon/Winter Solder series we’re learning about today already has a writer attached.

Though neither Disney or Marvel have commented on the news, Variety is also reporting that the studios have recruited Malcolm Spellman to write the upcoming series.

Spellman’s recent credits include working as a writer and co-executive producer on Fox’s Empire. Additionally, he also penned the script for the film Our Family Wedding.

It’s also worth noting that it’s a pretty significant move for Disney and Marvel to be developing a series centered on Falcon and Winter Soldier.

Those who’ve been following the latest MCU news closely will know that the fate of Captain America is very much up in the air— especially with actor Chris Evans likely bowing out of the MCU with Avengers: Infinity War 2.

That being said, comic book readers will know that both Falcon and Winter Soldier are canonical successors to Steve Rogers’ Captain America.

Creating a series centered on both character adds more fodder to fan speculation that one of these Avengers could be the next to pick up Cap’s star spangled shield.
