Soon you’ll be visiting your personal Facebook profile and noticing organization tweaks.

Facebook’s Timeline feature revamped each user’s profile last year, and now there are significant yet welcomed changes on the way.

The social networking site is giving more attention to your favorite Books, Movies, Music, and Television Shows. Now you’ll be able to feature your favorite things with bigger images and put items into “Want to Watch/Read/Listen To” lists. For example, when you visit a friend’s profile and see that they recently read the book Insurgent, you can hover over the book and add it to your “Want to Read” list. Presumably this’ll show up in your friends’ Facebook News Feed.

Facebook’s new user profile

The big visual change coming with this update is what your profile looks like. Once the new profile is live, all posts that you make (like your “Spring break is hereeeeee!” status update) will be on the right side of your profile. On the left side will be all of your personal information and other recent activity (Friends List, Photos, etc). Facebook is making this change because they heard complaints about the feed being difficult to read when content would shift from left to right with each new post.

The new profile and interest features will be rolling out to all Facebook profiles in the next few weeks. We’re fans of these changes because the new Facebook profile looks cleaner and makes it easier to show off our favorite books, albums, movies, and television shows.
