Actor Ezra Miller appeared to seriously throw a fan to the ground at a bar in Iceland on April 1, and the attack was caught on video.

Update (April 9): According to The Wrap, Miller is not under investigation and the police were not called to the scene, though Miller was escorted from the bar.

Further, no one has pressed charges against the actor. The circumstances around the altercation are still unclear, other than the fact that Miller was asked to leave the bar after the ordeal took place.

Original story (April 6): The video surfaced on Twitter over the weekend, but many were unsure if this was a serious altercation or some sort of joke that was purposely being filmed. You can watch it for yourself below:

Since then, Variety has spoken to “a source at the establishment,” and they’ve confirmed that it was not a joke. Miller was reportedly escorted off the premises after he grabbed this woman by the neck and brought her to the ground.

Variety’s source said that the fans were being “quite pushy,” though obviously that’s not an excuse for what he did.

Miller plays Credence Barebone/Dumbledore in Warner Brothers’ Fantastic Beasts film series and The Flash in their DC adaptations. You may also remember him from the book to film adaptation of The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

The actor is expected to have a prominent role in the remainder of the Fantastic Beasts film series. Production on the threequel was halted last month due to COVID-19.

Warner Brothers and J.K. Rowling have yet to comment on the situation. This article will stay updated with more information as it develops.
